Process of the project
Phase 1 will involve the creation of the basis for the project and in particular for the model region in the form of the conceptual designs and specifications. Important milestones are the definition of the E-Energy marketplace (AP 1), the outline of the communication infrastructure (AP 2), the requirement specification for the IKT gateway (AP 3) as well as the system concept for the E-Energy marketplace software (AP 7) including the meter data management. Indicators that allow the quantification of the benefits of an E-Energy market on completion of the project will also be determined in the specification phase.
Phase 2 covers the years 2010 and 2011 and involves the development and realisation of
- the communication infrastructure and IKT gateway,
- the technical processes for the distribution system operation in view of the E-Energy marketplace and its realisation in the network control system,
- the business processes for trading and marketplace,
- the software for the marketplace system.
The development in each of these sub-areas will be accompanied by modelling and simulation which allows constant checks of the development work with respect to the project aims.
Phase 3 serves for a demonstration of the new technologies in the E-DeMa model region. The data and information gained here will be evaluated and validated. With the aid of the validated modelling of energy networks and energy trading in the context of the new E-Energy market, an investigation of the project success from both an economical point of view and in terms of the energy savings and thus the possible CO2 savings will be attempted within the scope of the closing report.
