E-Energy: The energy marketplace
E-DeMa is one of six projects in the "E-Energy: IKT-based energy system of the future" research programme of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. E-Energy develops and tests new approaches to optimising energy supplies in six model regions through the use of modern information and communication technologies (IKT). E-Energy aims to develop the optimisation potential of the IKT so as to achieve more cost effectiveness, security of supplies as well as climate and environmental compatibility in electricity distribution.
The regions have been provided with 140 million euros from their own resources and state grants for this purpose. Six further regions that reached the final round of the technology competition will be involved in the research support activities as partner regions.
