E-DeMa – development and demonstration of locally networked energy systems to the E-Energy marketplace of the future

Wash the dishes or do the washing when electricity is at its cheapest? Electricity-generating heating systems in private houses as feeders to the electricity grid? An "Internet energy marketplace" that controls, manages and regulates our electricity system with the aid of intelligent technology? E-DeMa develops solutions to turn these ideas into reality.

An integrated data and energy network with new ideas in terms of structures and functionalities will be created within four years. So-called "Smart gateways", for example, link private households to the electricity suppliers and thus allow the constant, bidirectional comparison of electricity supply and demand. The consumer thus becomes an active participant on the market.

More energy benefits and efficiency for everyone involved in the market, for generators, municipal utilities, device manufacturers, service providers and customers - this is the goal of E-DeMa.
